Abstract

This study was conducted in 2024 within the "Kelte-Mashat" mountainous region of the Turkistan district, examines the physiological and health impacts of sports and recreational tourism on a cohort of ten students. The comprehensive medical and anthropometric assessments were conducted at the Regional Medical and Physical Education Dispensary in Turkistan, both before and after the experimental period, to evaluate the efficacy of this intervention. The assessment metrics included body mass, heart rate (HR), vital capacity (VC), physical working capacity (PWC170), and maximal oxygen consumption (MOC). The primary objective of the research was to provide theoretical and empirical support for the use of sports and recreational tourism as an effective means of fostering healthy lifestyle habits among university students. The results revealed a significant increase in PWC170 values across all participants, indicating enhanced functional capacity of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as improved metabolic efficiency. Notably, the MOC increased by an average of 714 ml/min, demonstrating a substantial improvement in aerobic endurance. Additionally, participants experienced an average body mass reduction of 2 kg, while vital capacity indicators showed consistent positive trends. These findings confirm that sports and recreational tourism serve as a potent instrument for enhancing the physical fitness, functional capabilities, and overall health status of the youth. Consequently, the outcomes of this study provide a scientific and methodological framework for integrating sports and recreational tourism into higher education curricula to promote sustainable, healthy lifestyle practices.
