<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This article analyses some key empirical and theoretical studies of the major architects of distributed leadership (DL). The article focuses on a key area of interest in distributed leadership, namely its current state of play. Presented scientists call for further learning of a practical rationale for the rise of DL, including issues, such as a growth of concepts associated with the concept of distributed leadership, accountability of leaders and finding of a clear and agreed understanding of DL perspectives. The most criticis to understand the resulting issues around distribution of power, which are largely ignored or referred to in passing. It is suggested that opportunities to contribute to leadership are not equal in education and that DL remains still unclear. The article concludes with recommendations for further research.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>распределенное лидерство</kwd><kwd>образование</kwd><kwd>власть</kwd><kwd>совершенствование</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>distributed leadership</kwd><kwd>education</kwd><kwd>power</kwd><kwd>improvement</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Bush, T., &amp; Glover, D.
